In the framework of the interdisciplinary research program “Domestication and Fabrication of the Living” (CNRS-PSL), the international conference “Biobanking: reconfiguration of living matter, what issues?” was organized to engage a collective reflection on the topic of biobanking. This conference brought together scientists (biology, medicine) and researchers from the Humanities and the Social Sciences (anthropology, sociology) in order to explore the diversity of operations designed to transform living material developed by these new institutions, in the field of human medicine, as well as in practices involving animals, plants or micro-organisms.
